Just wanted to share my experiment to catch those pesky hairpins. Bought some small rare earth magnets they are super strong. And hot glued them on the outside bottom of the scoop. So far it has worked great. Now if something Is going through it is lead or maybe a gold or silver earring.in the pics the magnets are covered with black magnetite sand. Hope this helps others make faster recoveries. GL&HH

This was on my small rtg hand scoop. Probably have to put the magnets on the inside of the long handle scoop. Or they will come off when digging.
