In my best Burl Ives voice..... Silver and Plat... Silver and Plat.....

As Chris (DC426) said, we met up a local beach that shocked us as it had hard sand and in spots, very thin before you ran into shells or clay.... wow was that a nice change. I was doing my best at a modified snorkel hunting... work the water normally but sometimes face deep and when you get the tone, drop and fan.... worked out great and doing that I got to see exactly what was going on down there.... all three rings along with the gold looking hoop earring were under no more than 1" of sand, the coins and all trash I did pick up were the deep targets.... Yeah, you read that right, the heavy targets were on top!

The old looking moonstone? ring is silver 10.7 grams, I'm hoping it will clean up. The mens wedding band I was hoping for white gold and was pleasantly surprised when I saw Plat. .950 and some intials.... 10.8 grams of Platinum.... the other ring is also silver and you can see it cleaned up real quick from the dash board picture....

Chris is a heck of a hunter and has that CZ humming.... Glad we don't bet on most rings, on my best day, I'd lose to him!

Oh yeah, the odd coin in the one photo is a Spanish 5 PTAS.

Wish I could get out there again tomorrow but... time to do some things with the wife.....

HH and GL all
Cliff

hey everyone, thanks for the replies..... BS, after I wrote that statement about the thin sand and thought about it, I wanted to make sure that everyone knew it wasn't like that everywhere but it was in the spots I got those rings. IF I had to use my scoop, it turned out to be trash or coins.
Joe, the clarity was easily 5 feet so more than good enough... and yes, I think I have a good routine down now, I really appreciate all your time and tips... we need to get out again together.
Les, there is no doubt that if there is gold in front of you, you will find it... problem lately is getting in the right spots at the right time.

GL and HH everyone.

Cliff

The other day I got a signal, positioned the scoop and leaned down on it, and nearly went right over on my face......"firm bottom". It's been such a rarity over here I certainly wasn't expecting that. :laughing7: (Still ended up being a pull tab.) :BangHead:
