I took mine to the machine at Publix. It jammed it twice, so I need to clean them better. But then again, is it worth the hassle?

A friends' friend that comes down every yr from Wisconsin, cleans them in Draino and with a steel brush.
It is a lot of hassle. I have about 5 or 6 plastic coffee cans filled with ugly crusty coins in them, I haven't got to yet.
I also keep a plastic coffee can in my car, full of the cleaned "ugly" coins, that no one wants to take. They work real good in parking meters and vending machines. They don't judge how the coin "looks" as long as the shape and weight are there!

Throw them in white vinegar over night or dip them in muriatic acid. Heck of a lot less hassle. The zincolns should probably just stay in the coffee cup...
