Hello all, Wicka here,

Could anyone suggest a decent saltwater MD.
I'm looking for less than 800$ but I know I "get what I pay for" was thinking a sandshark. I'll be hunting hopefully 3 days a week for 6 weeks every summer along New England beaches. My plan is to sell my garret 350 and Fisher F4 for 700$ and add some to get this new one. I'm fed up with those two machines I like the Garret 150 most
Any opinions would be appreciated.
Also, can you use it out of water? Example: playgrounds, tot lots?
Wicka

I just got my sandshark and have found 3 silver and 1 gold rind. A gold nugget and a bunch of change. Digging everything has its advantages. Great machine in the salt.

I copied this from my answer about the new Minelab Harness Video
The Excalibur , CTX 3030 and GPX 4800 he is using in the video might be a great machines but it seems reading all the forums they don't hold up and break a lot. In my opinion if its broke its just a paper weight. My understanding is that Minelab has some great electronics engineers but their mechanical engineers need help either that or they are just being cheap. I think their prices are outrageous. But what the hell if you can justify spending $1500 to $5000 on a detector thats constantly breaking down (From what ive been reading) whats another $130 thats just chump change. I would stick with Garrett until Minelab gets their problems fixed. Unless you have money to burn.

I would buy a used one so you don't loose money if and when you get tired of digging everything really deep. Like this below. Can find 2-3 month old machines on eBay or forums for around $400-$450. I will probably get another one for certain areas of beach hunting one day.

I bought a shark this year. I got the 10" coil. So far I have been out 4 times and produced 2 gold rings. I really like mine and don't mind digging the other stuff. I have not made a beach trip this year but hope to later on. The sand shark is a good machine for the money.

Certain beaches and certain areas of all beaches they're great for. Other beaches they'll wear you out really fast digging deeeeppppp holes! While a VLF will save your time and energy for better targets. Just my experience with PI machine.

Good point! I am wanting another machine(have ace 250 and pro-pointer) to use in wet sand and in the water..ocean..
Trying to decide between At and Sand Shark. I have heard with the shark you are going to do a LOT of digging. ..I wonder what you and others think re those two..
Thanks for any help, much appreciated. .

Of the 2 mentioned the Sand Shark is the best choice for wet sand. Leave propointer at home. It's useless in wet salty sand/ surf.

Is this a trick question? I could have sworn that you were a seasoned saltwater hunter Sqiggy. Yes you dig almost everything. Deep, deep, deep!
