What a crazy day! This is how a ring recovery mission led to me getting 2 Bvlgari platinum earrings!
I still can't believe how out of nowhere everything happened, I never get anything either so I'm feeling like I won the lottery!

Check out how I ended up with a pair of 950 platinum Bvlgari Earrings :goldbar:

I'll be getting a better camera soon so audio will be better too!
Thanks everyone
Happy Huntings!

WOW!! It is tough to find a pair of ear rings, let alone platinum ones. You did very good, even if it was in a jewelry box. Keep looking for the lost ring it is still there waiting for you... HH, Beach Papa

I wish! The hotel manager who had to approve my arrival escorted me to the beach where I was watched the entire time I worked, when I found trash I put it in my pocket. When I first started hunting the hotel manager decided to watch me from a distance and thought I was stealing stuff from the beach. He came back saying anything I found had to be turned in to the guard, that I couldn't put anything in my pockets. I was just agreeing thinking "Hey jackass, all beaches in Mexico are public, if I find something other than the ring I'm trying to recover I will be taking it, cut the you own the beach act", pompous prick tried talking to me like I was a servant! In Mexico the workers are talked too like slaves, he thinks because of the help I'm offering that he can talk to me like a worker? I didn't say anything because I am now on the contact list and will be getting called every time someone loses something, I was told it happens very often. I'm considering speaking with every resort in the area and having them add me to the contact list. Start a little lost ring Caribbean recovery business haha

I won't get to excited until you take it to a jeweler and he tell you that it is Plat., because 950 is also a silver mark!!

Doesn't look like silver or sound like silver. I can't find any silver earrings they make marked 950 instead of 925, I also can't find anything 950 in general. They don't seem silver at all..?

PT 950 I would say is PLAT. ,but you don't see the PT mark. Silver mark would be a plain 950,925 900 959 or 825 all these marks are silver . Take it to jewelers to be safe. I have been doing this for 37 years and all mark are not what they seem.

:/ Well in that case I knew this was too good to be true! I will find out whenever I travel back to the U.S. and check with a jeweler. On the flipside maybe they're platinum!
I would say if they are silver they're worth around 100-150 dollars now? Would you agree with this estimate, that's based off of brand name not the scrap value btw.

950 is a rare mark to see on silver...with those ear rings being made by a high end company my bet is they are plat.

950 is a rare silver mark in the USA, but not in Mex. where this thread is coming from.

I found info that 950 was used to mark platinum jewelry, but some silver, particularly in Mexico was .950 pure.

It sounds like the earrings could be either, but I'm leaning toward silver when considering the facts given in the thread. Obviously, you would want to have them checked by someone who knows how to tell just to be sure.

Let us know what you find out if you end up getting them tested.

Well I don't know any jeweler's in Cancun and I don't trust any of them. Everyone here is trying to screw someone over for money, I rather not have a liar!

Do you guys think I should make a video dropping the ear rings so you can hear the sound/show it off in closer detail? Let me know, thanks :)
