**Update** First Gold Ring Find Ever! Beautiful 14kt 8 Diamond/Emerald Ring!

**Update**
This ring was stolen from my house last night along with some other finds, I threw a party for about 15 ppl, coworkers and closest friends. I don't understand how anyone I invited could do this but than again this is Mexico and broke ppl get desperate. I'm extremely upset and feeling violated/used too. I would like to say, please keep your jewelry hidden, NEVER tell anyone you've found anything during your hunts, and don't trust anyone. Lock it up!

Hey guys
I havnt been able to hunt as much as I would like too due to bad weather, it's been storming here on and off everyday. Managed about 15 hours this week though with a few hunts ruined by thunderstorms. Today was an amazing day however, I found my first gold ring, 14kt 8 diamond with a center emerald. You know the feeling when you look in the scoop and you see a ring, you think please please please be a good one! This was a good one! The feeling of taking gold out of your scoop is addicting, feeling like a junkie! 1 month equaled 2 gold pieces, this 14k gold ring and 14kt gold cross. It's not much but I'm a happy camper and both have diamonds! :)

It's a beautiful ring, still looking at it in the light :headbang:

Happy Huntings

It's so black looking, what should I use to clean it up ? I heard toothpaste, water, baking soda, and a toothbrush. What do you think?

Thanks everyone for the kind words, I'm hearing the stone is not an Emerald but rather a Periodit. I saw a green stone and figured Emerald. Is periodit more or less rare? I love the green shine it has Emerald or not!

Really pretty ring and bracelet. If you have access to an ultrasonic cleaner, that should clean up the bracelet. Commercial jewelry cleaner can also be used. If it is silver (925) do not use jewelry cleaner unless it is made specifically for silver.

Peridot is a green gemstone, more common than emeralds. I believe it is a semi-precious gem as opposed to emeralds which are considered "precious gems". (Any gemologists out there?) Whereas emeralds can come in different greens, peridot (olivine) is only one color. The "different" shades of peridot green comes from the milky inclusions in the stones. I also believe that peridot is a harder stone (6.5 on the Moh's scale) than emeralds are. (Diamonds are #10 on the scale and talc is #1).

The above info sounds really good...can a specialist help here? I am fairly sure of my info, but won't stake my life on it...:laughing7:

Again, super finds! Gold and diamonds and gems are ALWAYS great to find! Congrats.

Anita, I found a little more information, "Either a peridot or a pale green tourmaline....rare to see peridot cut in that emerald cut but a common cut for tourmaline..."

That's a surprise, it's not even Peridot!

That's terrible news! Some people have no respect for others. Get out there and find another one.

Thank you all, just lock it up and be safe!
I never had a hiding place, my finds sat in my drawer in my room, when friends came over I would pull the bag out and show them. Everyone who was over was close, I feel so used, one of my close friends Is a traitor and I don't know who I can trust. I'm questioning little things ppl say in my head to see how factual the truth is when I used to trust whatever my close friends told me, this really does suck

I don't know if this might give you a bit of comfort...but maybe it's the girlfriend of a friend of yours and someone you don't know as well?

It still sucks... I agree!
