Beach Sand Asian Coin with Hole - Where is it From?

Hunted the beach early this morning for a couple hours. I found my First Asian Coin with a Hole in it. It was still dark out when I found it. At first, I thought is was a washer and just put it in my pocket. It required extensive cleaning to get a look at it. The back side is wiped out.

Does anyone know what country this coin is from?

Along with a nice Sunrise, I found the usual weird stuff which includes the following, less clad:

3/4" Masonry Drill Bit, James Madison Dollar Coin, Fired Bullet with Riflings, 9mm Shell Blank Casing, Bluetooth Headset with the LED still flashing, and other items.

chineese brought a lot with them to Cali.
they used them between each other - probably in work camps
when they became worthless currency wise - they were sold off as good luck coins
I found one detecting in my yard when I was a kid in the 70s

Believe it or not, old Chinese coins are fairly common finds in dredge tailings in the more productive gold bearing areas. The old Chinese miners were incredibly through and didn't generally leave much gold behind, but they did occasionally drop a coin or two.
