started off slow - finished strong
others had been here over the last 2 weeks - I had to take left overs - no new coins or new jewelry
sometimes walked for hours with out a hit
- tungsten ring and titanium might have been more recent drops
about 98% of finds were foot or more down - a lot of stuff was faint and close to 2 feet down
I hunted in all metal most of the time -gold was deep - silvers were deep
most all coins had a crust - some more than others
I got into the zone an hour before I had to leave - heavy crusted coins -gold ring with diamonds and rubies and encrusted silver band
I know theres more gold in that spot -it was a jet ski area -
all over the world - where they have jet ski rentals - they throw you out (no swimming -no detecting) - but if you go early before they are there - bingo
regular swimming areas on both sides I got junk and almost no good targets like 100 yrds in both directions
other guys that hit here could not hit when jet skis were operating and hammered the swim areas too
- I went in that spot at 7am
and was getting tons of hits - more good than bad there - had to move at 9am when they set up
wish I could have stayed another day - I know theres more gold in there with the amount of good deep targets I was getting
others missed these caked coins and deep targets (this is a popular beach with visiting TH'ers) - so Im sure if I go back - stuff will probably be there - unless others start using all metal and taking it all out
1 - platinum & 18k gold ring (very heavy)
2 - white & yellow 14k bands
1 - white gold 14k band
1 - ruby & diamond ring 14k
2 - silver
1 - tungsten carbide
1 - titanium
1 - junker? - might be silver -have to test

you try and do the simple traditional water hunt - I went in and after an hour (and later talking to locals) found out that others had been there recently - I know of a few groups of guys that hunt down there - its tough when you got to follow others

the simple hunt was not working - went out deeper - did better cause not many go out deep, but still not as successful as had hoped

I had gotten a few deep coins in some areas - so I cranked sensitivity - hunted all metal (which I do 99% of the time) and slowed way down
went for whispers - was getting stuff down deep that others missed - wished I had a few more days to continue with that

That is a gorgeous ruby and diamond ring. If it fit me I think I would wear it..... Great Hunt.... I need to figure out how to do a Caribbean or Bahamian hunting vacation and still keep the wife happy.... Do you take a partner with a wife so the girls can shop while you hunt??? Beach Papa

Nice haul Casper! That's one beautiful ring. By the amount of finds, looks like you were in the water a bit. That's a nasty piece of glass in your junk shot glad u hauled that in! Thanks for sharing the info. Good hunt!

My girlfriend (of 17 yrs) - goes with me 98% of the time on my detecting trips

she is happy sitting in the sun all day and drinking carribean drinks - playing with her IPad or reading a book
I will take a break usually and grab some lunch with her on the beach - grab some water and go back out
every evening we have a nice dinner - if there is a casino around - she will do some slots - she's happy
and if im lucky I'll find something she can wear - not this trip - all mens gold

my gal is a social butterfly - so usually she will find someone to talk to on the beach too
and a few times has hung out with other women and gone shopping - she has never had a problem
with my detecting - I think I will keep her

if its rounded sea glass - I wont bother - but if its sharp and i see it or scoop it - I always pick it up - its good karma
been times where i've seen glass away from me and gone and picked it up and then found gold near it
I was in the water 1 hr before sunset on sunday
about 6 hrs on monday
about 4 1/2 on tues.
about 4 1/2 on wednes
and 2 hrs on thurs. early before i had to check out
this would be actual time in the water not counting bathroom and water/lunch breaks

Well done on the trip and finds, I've been trying to convince my better half on a resort trip in foreign location, but currently she seems more interested in vacationing in the states and a dog. Great post Casper, thank you for sharing your vacation.
