Hi,

A fellow detecting nut from Europe reporting in :hello:

A rainy day over here and I thought I'd register here and take a few shots of the gold and silver picked up so far for everyone to enjoy 8-) Nothing makes you want to go out there again like seeing some great finds eh? works for me.

So here's two and half months worth of very active beach detecting with Garrett AT Pro, dry suit and a stavrscoop

This is the start of my second season with this hobby and it seems I'm hooked - happy hunting!

Not sure how the salt conditions compare in our countries but it's not too bad over here...there's some background noise ofcourse but targets are still pretty easy to pick from the "ghost" signals.

Couple of my latest hunts:

Local trailer park beach, trash cash and a few rings...silver, copper and one 18K.

Old beach with a long history but surprisingly few finds..two 18K gold though

Yep, 54pcs mostly 18k, rest 14k....maybe 60/40% ratio. Silver is at roughly 170pcs and maybe 300 - 400g. No palladium or other exotics yet. Old fashioned people around here I guess :)

That is very interesting about your AT Pro. Mine does not do too well here in wet sand or water in Jensen Beach Florida. I usually use my Minelab Excalibur II

Oh wow! Good to know. That's what I'm swinging also. That AT sure sniffs out that gold through all that trash.

Well....yes and no..gold is the sneakiest of them metals. It can give a "textbook" 55 to 65ish ID with a nice double ringing sound making it stand out from coins and trash but it can also give a very low or very high ID with very trashy jumping sound or a solid coin like sound. So who ever digs the most will find most gold :) Some gold can be identified with good certainty with the AT but still maybe half the time I thought I was digging up a trash or a coin when a gold piece washes out from the scoop. One of the best sights by the way - when a long lost yellow sees daylight again at the bottom of the scoop and it just starts to wash out from the dirt...what is it....gold!...how big is it....? looks old...maybe 18k?! like a kid in christmas eve :D
