Found this today and thought I would post as an example off what the weight of sand and water can do to something

He's all bent up too, just like your spoon. Lol. He looks like he's been digging holes all day as well. Hahaha.

Oh, what a cutie pie your little friend is! ( Maybe he is not so little....he looks well nourished)

I love his little white paws, and the little white tip on his tail

GatorBoy, that is a very nice silver find...I find lots of spoons, but never a silver one; it's on my "bucket list"

Thanks Y'all... He's about 60 lbs.(Gabriel)
His brother is about 80.(Apollo)
That spoon is silver plated I've found several like that but only one up to this point that is solid silver and marked Sterling.
Found this one a few months ago

Nice saves! Too much longer and that spoon would've been tied in a knot! Great silver find!

Gabriel looks like he's trying to straighten his neck out after having it in the "down" position digging all day!

Ive found some real big old ones at old homesites but they are always plated...haven't found a solid sterling one yet.

I was at that same spot a couple days later and got a signal I was sure was going to be another sterling silver spoon or something like that and decided to take some photos it turned out kinda cool.
The handle was silver anyway.. There was still some silver plate left on part of that blade.
This post is just going all over the place but hey who cares its mine
