Found an 18k white gold earring in the surf, made by Chopard.It had a model number(google Chopard 837031-1001),and a serial number engraved inside it. I contacted Chopard who traced the owner by the serial number.They are going to readjust the tension on the clasp,and polish the earring before sending it back to the owner in Panama. This is a company that has A-list celebrity's wear thier jewlery to the oscars,I think I can trust them. Happy Hunting.
