for no man the old saying go's. but man waits for the tides ( new saying ).
Don't know how many have tried this technique but will throw it out there
anyway, it may or may not work in your area you will just need to check.
Lets say your going to hunt point (A) on low tide, tide table shows it to be
at 8:00 am, great you time you trip to arrive at least 1:00 hr. before then,
you start hunting as planed but finds are few and far between so it's a
blow out.
Now lets try something different; get that tide table out again and don't
just look at it but study it. Do you see any places up or down the coast
that low tide occurs several hours later than your prime area?
If the distance is not to far you can sometimes see where you can hunt
the low tide at more than one place if you plan it right. High and Low
tides do not take place at the same time at different points of a coast
some are ahead and some are behind any given point. If you study the
tables you may be able to hit two or even three in order if not spaced
to far apart and if you don't waste all the time at one location.
This can be a trick to use as a scouting tool for future hunts also, pick
an area, make a run to point (a), to be on time then run to (b) and even
to (c) to see how your timing is. Obviously you would want to pick only
what you would want to consider to be prime sites only.
This could also work on just one long beach by the same method, hit, and
run style.
