The Excalibur II balance plain sucks if you plan on walking in the surf. There are several aftermarket straight shafts out there but they are rather pricey running 100-150 bucks. While that is a small price to pay to have comfort out on the water, its still quite abit of cash for no more than what it is. So i took a little trip to Home Depot today and picked up one of those painter extension poles that a roller attaches to the end of. The goal was to move the control unit/battery to the elbow or so to help balance it out. The extension was about 10 bucks at home depot and with an hour or so of tinkering, mission accomplished!
