Went to park that's positioned along a river about 20 miles south from me. Had the whole day to myself so I was on a detecting high cloud! Pulling the usual slaw. Then came the multi coin hole. Just clad but 4 dimes and 4 zincs. Just a few minutes and got a real banger! 2 Kennedy halves. Never had that happen. I was telling myself I bet no one has hit this place. Next thing I see is this gaping chunked up hole. At least the target wasn't laying next to the hole! Then another banger which is the 28 on a copper oval. Haven't got a clue as to what it is. Was deep though, 8,9 inches. About 3ft away was another gaping chunked up hole and this I could tell was done by a shovel. You could see where they had stabbed it in the ground while they searched for the target. I smoothed it out some along with the others I saw. Moved on down and got a nice 38, 40. That's the silver earrings and again in the same hole off to the side was the mate! My last hunt I scored 2earrings in the same hole.
I left from here and went to a lake beach nearby. My first hit was a 90,91! I was hoping for a silver ring but 2 quarters stuck together. More trash and then a '45 wheat! This was a first. I've never found any "older" coins on the lake beaches. Omg! A chunky hole! I know this had to be the same person! The size and the way they were refilled was identical. Guess there not finding gold because I pulled lots of slaw near there digs. It amazes me how time flies when your detecting and work drags!! I left blue ridge lake and hit a elementary school just down the road. It was here that in one hour I pulled 3 sets of double quarters! Two of them were new (on top of the grass) and the other just under the surface. No pics because I left my phone in the car. Had a lot of fun on the "detecting cloud". Sorry for the long story but I've never found that many "doubles" in one day. Hope everyone has a great wknd! Finding doubles like that is unusual....especially the ear rings.....very seldom find both of them. Congrats!
