Did some research and found an early 1900's swimming hole, complete with dock, swim platforms, slides, and bath houses. Nothing there anymore, just a beach. Drove there for some reconnaissance work and turns out 3 people are there detecting. Looks like it's a well known spot and locals have hit it for while.
Doesn't deter me in the least. Planning on going wayyyyy out there as it's a bay and not ocean beach front. Figure coins and jewelry have to still be there. I'm thinking wet suit, floating sifter, and my CTX. Never used a hookah before and don't even think it's legal there as it's a residential area. Any advise, tips, words of encouragement would be appreciated. Thanks, Mike

Why would hookah be illegal? Noise?

Sent from a spun out toilet paper tube (one ply)!

Yup! But again I'm not positive, I'd have to check. I mean I could also run a battery operated one but not sure.

I'm not sure either but I bet you could either get away with it or just use a bottle. I think you're on the right track about going way out there. I doubt anyone else has done that. Sounds like a cool idea to me!

Feel kinda odd but the hooka I am familiar with I would not take swimming. Are they similar in design? How dose it work?

were those guys using waders or masks/snorkels?

Hi Casper, no just regular dry/wet sand guys. Thanks again for your help, your idea got me looking at things from a diff angle. That's how I found this spot. Mike

though hammered on land - might never have been hit in water or maybe only in shallows - try going in waist deep to your limits with a mask first before heading in with a hookah = I probably have gotten 80% of my finds in the 5 to 6 feet area - just beyond where the guys with waders go
