I was in PonteVedra beach a few years ago 3-4 and a WWII depth charge washed up. The bomb squad of Jacksonville setup a perimeter 1/2 mile around it then detonated it. I could feel my insides move with the percussion wave from it. Loudest, deepest thing I ever heard pretty cool though.

Hey I detected that exact area weekend before last... guess I was a week too early. Would have been a blast to find that.

Reminded me of>>>>>>>>

This mine detonator I found at work.
State Police EOD wanted to hi-order it in MY OFFICE...no way.
Everyone had the afternoon off, I had to stay.
The State Police finally loaded in to their Bean Pot, took it away and had the Navy EOD take care of it.
The serial number was list had the detonator as ACTIVE.
Turned out the company made the detonators during the WWII and it was a "show piece".

They pumped sand on that beach last summer...wonder how enough sand got moved to uncover that thing...I know it was rough over the weekend but that much erosion?

Well no WONDER I didn't find anything... 20 cents ... from PAG to The Don.... tight grid pattern from water to dunes. Took FOREVER. I did not get a huge iron hit where the bomb was which is strange. Maybe it was too deep or I ignored it.
