for a seal - from last week hunt
my girlfriend gets a good laugh - usually elderly people
will point and tell everyone - look at the seal
when I got out of the water (I was in before anyone was there)
an older Russian woman thought I was a seal - then she was telling me where
all the Russians swim covered in gold - an old hunt partner of mine got a huge diamond
at one of the spots she mentioned that I took him to

Like to think our detectors put out a anti-shark electro magnetic field thingy amagig and..... just block it out of my head!
Some of the male Gray seals aka Horsehead seals (Atlantic) are scary big boys with attitudes! Few years back My brother-in-law and I were chased out of the surf by one!
Very intimidating! Not like the curious and mostly friendly California sea lions(Pacific)!

You know Casper...
Its ok when people mistake you for a seal...

The problem comes when sharks do the same :P

How can you get in there with the shark stories around that area LOL

Just think of the story you can tell if I do get eaten and it makes the news - you can say you knew me :tongue3:

Is it true the sharks are attracted to the shiny scoop? if so does it make sense to paint them black or is it just to remote to be attacked by a shark while detecting. But then again they eat seals with out scoops.

My old eyes would say a seal..

Last week I was out about 150 yards on my tippy toes and seen 3 jetskis coming up the coast I ended up flipping up my sifter so they could see me..

Considering some type of Caution flag now.. As I came into shore one of the locals said he was pulling out his phone to call 911..

Be Safe Mr Casper...

I have always enjoyed going detecting with Casper-2. Just knowing there is something in the water that looks more like a seal than I do.
BUT I never want to hear of him being eaten ... my wife would never let me go detecting in salt water again.

Keep on smiling, swinging and never, never use seal oil as an after-shave!

Looking forward to our next sea search.

Use a divers flag even when snorkeling. Or in neck deep water.

they have buoys out there that the jet skis have to stay out from - most places our buoys are out in like 8 feet of water at low tide

I scared the crap out of a girl on the back of jetski last year - driver didn't see me and I popped up as they went by
she was not screaming cause she was having fun - I was way out at a spot I went to this year with Waterwalker - he knows how
far out I go - she was tapping her boy friend on shoulder frantically and pointing at me but I was right next to the buoy - so they should have stayed clear

OBN - you be safe my friend - hoping one day to hunt with you
