🥇 BANNER Gold coin in the dry sand

Got a tip about some old silver coins still being found where a new board walk has been built(post hurricane sandy). My buddy pulled a 1916 barber dime. I found this 1911 British half Sovereign one scoop down! My first gold coin and hopefully not the last. Thanks for looking, GL HH Mike

Congrats! Reminds me of Boardwalk Empire...maybe it was one of the Commodores coins?? The Commodore is a fictional character, but your gold sure isn't!

A young Nucky Thompson (Nolan Lyons) begs Commodore Louis Kaestner (John Elllison Conlee) for a coin as leader addresses the crowd. "We sprinkle the sea with gold and the sea gives it back to us a hundredfold. That is the glory of this blessed strand that we call Atlantic City." (1) The Commodore throws another gold coin into the sea and little Nucky comes up short.

Surprised it took so long but a lot of gold coins have been posted this summer. Guy just posted one yesterday. I dug a cob a few weeks back. It didn't make banner even though only one or two have been posted since I joined in May. Congrats on making banner. Gold coin should automatically make banner

Yes one of the reasons it took so long is I do not want the Banner to look like
a Gold coin Club.
The Banner is for "Recent Discoveries" but not just coins & Not when the Coins all look alike.

And for the record when 2 Like items are up for banner at the same time.
Charter members Trump Non Charter where that is a Concern.
(the banner was originally to be for Charter Members only)

We like relics Too.
I would like to see more diversity.
We have Bottles & Indian Artifacts that unfortunately get Ignored.
Gold coins get voted Banner even when the Pics look like they were taken
in a Circus Mirror Fun house

Which brings up another reason. I'm impressed by Nice Sharp photos !

Congrats Great lookin' goldie find mr mikejackie! I picked up a couple nice chains/rings in the dry sand areas in the past too....
