Check out the top row 3rd musket ball from the right and see the little knob sticking out....there maybe be a couple more at the top left cluster also.

It is grass....I see exactly what your saying. I saw that at first look too, and thought the same thing..... Blow the picture up, you can see the piece of grass it's sitting on.

Yeah when I blew up the picture I could definitely see the greenish color beneath....these old eyes ain't as good as the used to be...lol.

You have a nice set of balls there Casper. Sorry about that I just couldn't resist. Great finds, were they very deep? I'm not sure what the sand is like in your area.

You have a nice set of balls there Casper. Sorry about that I just couldn't resist. Great finds, were they very deep? I'm not sure what the sand is like in your area.
they were at all different depths - some of the smaller ones - will fall thru normal scoop hole - so some I think may have been scooped by others and they could not retrieve without a mask
I could just drop down and and fan once and pluck - others were as deep as a foot +
