Snagged 2 silvers from the wet sand at the beach today. One looks to be quite old to me. The beach I was hunting has been a popular place since the early 1920's. I regularly still find old silver coins so this ring could be from the early 1900's. What do you think guys?? Old ring? Looks like an opal stone. Just a wild guess and I could be wrong but the older one I would date to the late 60's to mid 70's..It looks much older but being marked 925, I have yet to find anything older then that time period marked 925. Seems most I find marked sterling date from the 50's down...925 from the 60's up....Casper or someone else maybe able to date it better for you. Cleaned I bet it is beautiful....

A couple unique silvers, congrats!
I'd be interested as well to see that one all cleaned up.

Might not be that old from the posts I've read but it does have a nice Victorian look to it. Would like to see it cleaned up and shiny.

Billinoregon: No I have 2 other stainless steel scoops I use. Saving the RTG for travel only, or if I have a break down with the other 2.

That sounds about right to me also. I've found modern silver with "sterling" stamped into it, but, nothing old with .925 in it.

Cudamark: yeah, looks to be late 50's early 60's style. Hoping Casper chimes in.
