Beach & Shallow Water Hunting
Spent the last week with the family at Hilton Head. Got out twice, lots of erosion, waves make it up to the dunes. At low tide very wide beach.
The water comes up quickly, best to hunt in the daytime. Was very happy to find a dollar coin as they are hard to come by. Then another, and another, then clumps of them along with colored glass hexagons. Dug up 49 dollar coins in 2 days plus other clad for a total of $60.99 . Also a sterling ear ring, 2 kids rings and small fishing weights. Not a lot of trash at all. No gold, but a lot of fun.

Fine hunt! I would give an organ to detect on a beach right now. Thanks for showing.

You can do it for a lot less pain than that! Just a plane ticket and a motel room! :laughing7:

If I knew how to play an organ or a piano for that matter I'd invite you down to San Diego, but I don't

All those Susan B. Anthonys! Very weird to see such a concentration.

They were mostly presidential series, then Sacagawea, and only 7 Susan B. I am sure there are still more.
At the dune line some were on the surface, 20 feet from the dune they were 6 inches under. At 35-40 feet where most were found they were 10-12 inches.
One was at 15 or more inches and only gave a faint blip. At 50 feet out there were none or they were to deep to hear.
The tide comes in fast, one big wave could have washed over the area people were playing a game.
Why not go back and find their money? Weekly rentals. They had a plane to catch. My theory anyway. I only wish I had another day to hunt.
