Just got back from a week in the Caribbean with my first golds of the season.
They're all 585.
Nice one has a sapphire center and ten smaller diamonds.
The water wasn't very productive so I switched to the wet sand in and out of the surf and had some success.

Stunners, man!

When you say you switched to wet sand, are you talking about the sand that's at the water line that catches waves? I'm headed to a cruise next week and am taking my detector. First time beach hunting. any tips you can provide would be great!

Skippy I've got hundreds of fresh water hours on my Excalibur but this was actually my first time in the ocean with it, so I don't know how much "expert" advice I'd be qualified to give you.
In the water is where I truly like to be, and where I tried first, but there wasn't a lot of targets and the undertow was strong.
My swimming skills are strong but I didn't want to get into a situation where I'd have to drop my gear to save my skin, so I erred on the side of caution and moved to the beach.
I hunted the wet sand preferably at low tide and worked right in and out of the surf. (The wet sand will be very evident)
I got some falsing on the transitions from dry & water and in the fast water but overall my Excal was surprisingly stable.
I guess how you are able to hunt really depends on what you'll be using for a detector.

Good Luck!

Great Au finds! Going on a cruise next month, did you have any problem getting your detector or gear on the ship?

What's the long stainless item! I found a ton of those in Galveston, TX

The SS item is a prong from the rake on a beach cleaning machine. I find them once in a while in Hollywood and Ft. Lauderdale. Ed

How cool is that to finally know what the heck those were. He must have hit a rock or log because I found like 10 of them in the same area.
