The photos do not do this ring justice at all. The center stone (maybe a little over 1/2 ct) is very brilliant. So nice I thought it had to be a CZ but it's legit diamond.

Sort of an interesting hunt today. Not much erosion despite the high surf advisory but I was finding iron everywhere. Those little bent pieces off of crab traps or something. I found this as the tide was going out not too far down the slope. It didn't sound at all like gold on the excal II. Sounded like more iron and was very choppy 6-8in down. Even as I got it to the top it was a choppy signal. When my foot uncovered it I was a bit surprised to see a ring.

Anyway...added bonus is its 18k too. Been a great 1.5 months with diamond ring #3. Won't have any problem selling the wife on a new machine if I want one lol.

Good luck. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1454029038.997449.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1454029051.891970.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1454029062.435975.jpg

Wow! Now that is sweet looking ring!! A black or red background might bring it out better. Congrats, that's a nice one!

That's why I dig it all - you got guys out there that might pass a signal like that up
and Ive followed guys that have and gotten odd or small gold behind them

Awesome find Redcobra!
Nice surprise too, given the tone!
18K + 1/2ct = CTX3030?

I agree. There's morons all over this beach hunting. A few of them have the balls to leave some of the trash right next to their holes too. I'll just let them laugh as they think I'm picking up their trash. I'm happy to do it if you sprinkle a few of these beauties in.

That's an incredible looking ring. Congratulations. I'd get that one appraised for sure. Awesome!

Wow!! Those stones are blinding!...and beautiful:hello2:

Am I correct that it is the stones give off that "choppy' sound?

Great detecting!

Think it might have been the black sand giving the excal some chatter. Not sure but supports my dig it all, get it all approach.

I have discovered several reasons for a broken signal. It certainly could have been the black sand or more than one target under the coil. But it could also have been the alloy of the gold or the configuration of the ring design. I have had rings with a broken/cracked band give off a broken signal and since your ring appears to have little attachment between the center stone and the side stones, the detector may have seen them as two separate objects. My rule of thumb is if the signal is repeatable and hits at all in the gold/silver zone, dig it up. It is usually junk but I have been surprised enough to make it work digging it up.

Sweet. Thanx for posting the eye-candy! I've decided my metal detector doesn't like diamonds :( Or maybe I gotta move to So. CA and start poaching your spots? haha
