Hi:hello:,

Decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather this morning and headed for "muddy flats" at low tide this morning; nothing much out there for me after 2 hrs. hunting, so I decided to hit the wet slope and dry sand ( in that order).

Started finding coins and then heard a nice high singing tone, but when I dug the target, it looked to me like just another scrap piece of metal until I cleared more sand and saw the circular "connector " at the top ; turned out to be a silver pendant.

Was about 5" deep in dry sand; heavily coated with tarnish, but it cleaned up well with Tarn-X and baking soda.

Looked all over the pendant for a marking, but found none:icon_scratch: silver acid test proved +:hello2:

Don't know the significance of the pendant ...something to do with children ...maybe a teacher's pendant ?...not sure.

Would appreciate some input as to ID....thank you

Here's some pics

Thank you for taking a look at my post

Lorraine

Hey there Lorraine, good to see you got out today. It's been raining like stink here but we have a few permissions in place when it dries up. I wish I knew more about silver tests, etc. to help you ID that little pendant. I like your first picture,it's like you arranged the relics to look a little like the pendant's face might look like with coins for hair and eyes, etc. I promise I haven't been smokin anything, lol.

Thanks, CoilyGirl,

Yup, that is the extent of my artistic talent...very limited:laughing7:

I did find the pendant on-line; it's just a little girl with pigtails silver pendant.

Here's the pic from on-line, although it does not look silver to me:dontknow:
.

I am surprised it don't have a hallmark. It may be on the ring at the top and sometimes even on the side which is hard to read. I dug a pendent yesterday but it was pure junk.

What a nice find, congrats on the silver. I can't seem to cross that barrier so far this year.

On a side note...

With that look that Domino is giving you the caption should read, "You realize that I'm too good for this silliness, don't you?"

I'll keep trying to find that Hallmark, Normsel..it's got to be there somewhere.

Yeah, I also have had plenty of "junk jewelry" days :skullflag:

Good luck on your next hunt.

Lorraine

Please tell your little girl that I said "Thank You" to her for helping me solve the mystery of the pendant.

Lalaloopsy has a very colorful website; I'm sure your daughter loves it all !
