reposting from Ron Lord's thread: if you want to find the Aggie ring's previous owner this site will almost certainly put you in touch with them: Lost and Found They will have a record of the name and contact info (that they use for fundraising) tied to class and what style of ring it is (incl size, purity, etc). These rings are a pretty big deal for Texas A&M students and often are or become heirlooms, you can even have your grandfather's ring melted down and made into your ring!
