It is really hard work. You have to really love doing it.
The other day I spent three hours in an area that had a current
that was running like a swift moving stream. My reward was two crusty nickels
and a ton of aluminum and other bits of junk. The exercise was really good though.

Sifter will help a lot, Plus of late things are just ruff. Water is way up, almost two feet and a lot of sand has got pushed into most of the beach's. Then your hunting with a PI so that can get a little ruff but in the right spot it will pay off. Once summer hits, July.. start hitting Sandy Point. Hours are 6am to 9am but the gold will be there. Plus you will get to meet a few of the locals....Good Luck

I will be at sandy point almost every weekend or every other weekend I live right down the road :) I have been hitting my community beaches just to get the hang of things. Water is warming up fast.

Yes, water temps are jumping.. just 49 last week and now 57! Also noticed water level is up to almost 3 feet now! I went out last week to a spot and found I could only go shallow for the water was up to my chest once out just a little ways. SO until it recedes to normal hunting is going to be limited for me.

Wait until the water is calmer. :notworthy:

What is this 49 and 57 you speak of? :icon_scratch: :laughing7:
We got 79, but fierce winds and 4 - 6' waves. little too rough, atm. :cat:

Water detecting is way harder than it looks. If I get over about waist deep I find it more enjoyable to snorkel and fan for targets with a little weight in the weight belt to stay put on the bottom while fanning.
