Thanks slider. I purchased a new CTX from Tony S. @ Fort Bedford in March. Got a great deal on a great machine that seems to like silver. There's a lot to learn with the CTX, however, it has SO MANY features to help find and record good targets that it adds another level of enjoyment to our hobby. The GPS feature is real nice and it's just a great machine...

the gps will suck your battery dry in no time flat..... Personally it's pointless at the beach. Cool for relic ...Good thing about the ctx is that it's as simple or complicated as you want it to be. I prefer making it act like an excal with pitch hold, hunt wide open (usually) unless it's trashy then it'll be low trash in beach mode. I've still found more w/my excal but it's quickly losing ground.

Lorraine, The top coin is a Mexican $10 Pesos, the other is a 1979 Swedish 1 Krona coin. The ring is a 925 Budha seated on a purple colored stone. I found the ring after I grounded my scoop at the top of the wet sand line to take the CTX down to the water to rinse it before leaving the beach for the day. As I walked into the surf the CTX sounded off and 3 scoops later the Budha was in my possession. While it's not a huge treasure, it proves that treasure can be found at the most inopportune time.

GL and HH,

Tony
