Here's an older site, certainly not a modern website, but it lists a ton of swimming holes per state. On the home page, scroll down to the "States Map", and click your state for the swimming holes they have listed. I figure they can't possibly listed all the old swimming holes, but here's a chance for treasure!

Heck, I just clicked on Ontario on the map and even came up a list of Canadian swimming holes too.

I've used this a few times for Maryland, and Virginia. Most of the places lack the traffic to generate much treasure. But you never know until you check each...A picture of one in VA....You may recognize this one, lynchburg

Many of these places may lack the traffic NOW, but what about back in the pre-A/C days?? There could be lots of "old" goodies just waiting to be found.

Well, you look back, there's a whole lot of those spots where say, the neighborhood kids went - I know we did in the 50's. And those spots aren't on this list.

I'd suggest talking to local elderly people, and ask them where they had a swimming hole. I remember a few which were actually loaded with kids in the Summer months, on a river, a large creek, etc. Back in the days when air conditioning was rare, we kids would head to the local swimming hole. Generations of kids used the same holes.

that sit is actually not "that" old
I found it like 10 years ago and would send to friends
I posted maybe four or five years ago
kind of regret it cause lurkers got into a lot of them before I could
hopefully if any in your area - you hit them soon before lurkers here go now
