About a year ago I was watching a video on Youtube. There was a person detecting in the water off of a lighthouse. I thought that is a really beautiful place and I want to go there. The video did not give the location but a little investigation on my part allowed me to find the location. I headed down there for the day and after detecting on the beach in the wet sand getting nothing but coins I decided to go in the water. After a about 5 minutes I found what I believe to be a very old handmade ring. It looks to me that it is gold on the top and the rest silver. There are no markings to indicate gold or silver but it did clean up nice which indicates silver to me. What is your opinion? Thanks for looking. HH

Killer ring. I love the older stuff.

Btw if you were at a place that was constructed in the early 1800s i am jealous.I been wanting to go there for quite some time.

I know where that beach is - I got a few nice gold there years ago on one of my hops down there
as for your ring - I found one identical in north Miami a few years back

That's really interesting. I was thinking that some stones may have fallen out. So the ring is not that old then? Why do you think there is no stamp on the inside. I am sure it is gold and silver.

Casper,

I just noticed that your photo expands to finds in Florida in 2012. All I can say is you must have been ready to jump out of your skin a few times with those finds. They are just awesome. I don't know any other words to use. A belated Congrats from me. You killed it on vacation.

it definitely is gold and silver - there may be someone crafting them in Miami area - mine was pretty clean when found and was hoping it was yellow on white gold
but no - the ring with the ball of gold on it is actually a tiffany silver with 18k gold ball and wire on it - was weird finding 2 sil. & gold on one trip
