I got to the river for 2 hours with the at/pro and the 5 x 8 coil and found 2 rings and 17 coins for a total of $1.63. 1 ring was sterling silver with a stone and 1 ring was copper. Try to post photos later this week when I have more time. HH.

Very nice. Was this a swimming area on the river? What river, must be small, slow?

It's the Flint river and it runs into Lake Blackshear. It's a local park that has been used for swimming ever since I was a boy in the early 1960's and this site has been good to me in the past. Hope to hit it again when I have more time after the 4th of July. I stopped by a local park when I was in town the other day and found 1 dime and 7 pennies including a 1972 Canadian dime at the top of the first photo. the 92.5 sterling ring is 3.53 grams and has a mark ALE-58 and the copper ring has a M mark and weighs 3.47 grams.

Your silver ring is a Pandora ring...ALE if their makers mark...nice score and it has good resale value.

Thanks lookindown. A2coins, I use the pro zero and seldom use discrimination. Sometimes I have to, but using the 5 x 8 makes it easier with all the junk in the river. I prefer the stock coil, but since I have so little time to detect, I try to get more bang for my buck so to speak with the smaller coil. It really helps recover the smaller targets better for me than the stock coil.

Hit the river again for almost 2 hours and found some clad coins and copper ear ring in the shape of a cross. Must have had some type of silver plating on it, but nice little cross anyway. Hope to post some photos next week when I get back to the library. HH.
