Guys,

I need your help. I have spend long hours at the beaches. One reason, the beaches are quite a drive for me. So I plan to stay all day. I hit dry/wet sand, and the water.

However, never fails I get chafed badly. I think it is the wet clothes that causes it. When the hunt is over it is brutal recovery. RAW, RAW, RAW, my inner thighs etc. I have tried several different types of shorts even Baggy long shorts that chaf the back of my legs too. My underpants chaf my inner thighs. Tried no underpants then the chafed moved to another area more sensitive. )*&^$

I thought of spandex but I'm not wearing them without putting some normal shorts over them. I don't feel right with tights.

It is bad enough to be worn out for a couple dollars in change, but being chaffed sucks.

It was worst first few times out. Throw in sun burnt on top of all the other stuff. But now I wear cap, sun glasses (everyone is blurred now) sunscreen and have light weight long sleeve shirt.

Any advice is much appreciated.

spandex. I wear it under my bathing suit. Get some cheap ones from walmart. I also wear a surf rashguard when Im going in the water. It prevents chaffing and dries really fast.

I use rash guards and vasoline. I have also heard that people wear bike riding spandex shorts as rash guards and swimming suites over the rash guards. I wear a bathing suite over mine.

Antiperspirant deodorant works great! Friend told me he uses it when golfing and very hot and humid. Was doubtful but gave it a try. Couldn't believe how well it works.

lycra bike shorts or under armor spandex - with bathing suit on top - after hunt I will drop my trunks and just put on a pair of older dry shorts
and then put a dry shirt on - get black or dark grey spandex or lycra

Original Series Boxerjock from Under armor(Polyester/Elastane) or Reebok boxer (under) shorts. Wear either under a pair of quick drying shorts and the problem will go away and do what Casper does at the car or just put a towel on the car seat and head home wet.... you will get a real salty seat belt that way......

just stop shaving down there. What I do is, whenever I can, if I can, I hit the beach shower and rinse off then go back out. I've tried rash guards but they don't stop against heat rash and irritants that get trapped in there. Better to free flow and use vasoline. Also if your hunting below your thighs in the dry, I use baby powder.. If your hunting deeper then the vasoline trick works but takes a little getting used to. Kind of like peeing in white-water

i always wear different kinds of biker shorts, still get it, pretty painful walk home, specially if you go out 2 or three days in a row. never tried the vasoline but that makes the most sense, protects coats and lubes

Thanks everyone for your advice. I'm going to try them all and see which one works the best.
It is much appreciated, and maybe I will be able to do something the day after the hunt. :) Thanks again!

The first time I rented a wet suit several years ago, I was in cold water with a wind blowing from the Northwest at about 24 miles an hour and gusting to 35 mph and I stayed in the water about 4 hours. I wasn't chaffed, but sure had two very sore nipples and got an infection and had to have a mammogram. Anti-rash shirt took care of this problem. Scared me the next day when I woke up with a discharge from both my nipples and thought I had something serious like male breast cancer. We always think the worst, don't we. I believe they make pants for this also.

PA, thanks for the advice. I used to chafe badly but the last couple of beach hunts I've used deodorant and it worked great!
