Nice goin' on that 1932 class ring, mnruxpin:notworthy:

The oldest class ring that I found is a 1934; the older class rings were made with much more"class" than today's class rings ( IMHO)..the class ring was almost totally gold...with just a small emblem on top.

I wish you the best out there, and I hope you find many more treasures.

My oldest is 1924 or 28. I can't remember right now I will have to look it up but I was able to return it to the nephew of the lady that lost it. Just absolute luck because where she graduated school there were no records or anything but my wife's aunt, in her late 70's, remembered who it was by the initials in the ring. Was neat returning it...d2

yea not sure how many class rings ive found, probly 20 or 30, lots of other rings tho. another wierd thing about the guy that found an 1899 is that our area is so rural, 8th grade was top for most people, cuz you were just going to go work on the farm anyway. so blows me away that he finds 3 gold rings total in 4 years of hunting and one is so freakin rare. i been diggin anything that will even kinda beep in the area he found it, hopin to pull another like it, but havent found crap there. just amazes me and gives me some major ring envy. oh and he uses a homemade pvc scoop in an area almost impossible to dig with commercial scoops. its just crazy

I kind of upset a few folks awhile back. I know for sure one guy. A bunch of us were hunting a school. Several of them hunted the same area that I pulled out a Chinese Panda gold coing. It was only a 10th of an ounce, but it was gold. The club has been around since 1967 I was the third person to find one. Then recently I was at the beach when I found a Mexican gold coin.. A 1/4 ounce of 24k .999 pure. Now I am the only one in the club to have 2. I am basically a newby. I have only been detecting now for 4 or 5 years. 4-5 yrs - I would not consider you a "newbie" - tenderfoot? maybe
usually I would call 1-2 yrs a newbie
continued good luck:thumbsup:

I've only found one, and it was only common metal 1978. I contacted the school with the guy's initials, and the guy called me. I gave him directions and greeted him at the door with the ring in hand. He grabbed it out of my hand and said "I thought I lost it". He immediately left without even thanking me.

Grrrr......

I have found over 100 also. Oldest is a 1901, from the school BHS.

Not a great picture but the second from the left.

dang you find a lot of stuff too, and dig a lot of holes. figured you had a slug of super old ones. congrats on the 1960. fun to dig the old class rings cuz you kinda know when they were lost. most people dont wear them after high school. so the date on them is pretty much when they were lost.
