A 10x loupe from harbor freight is what I have in my bag at the beach which is fine for reading hallmarks and Karat markings. At home I have a 10x triplet Belomo brand loupe the Baucsh and Lomb triplets are very good also. The triplet is made from three pieces of glass and eliminates distortion you get at the outer edges the cheaper loupes are usually only good at the center where the triplets are distortion free across the whole lens. They cost considerably more at 35 dollars but good for a lifetime. Like everything else the right tool for the right job. I use the better loupe to check the clarity of stones and see any flaws. If your using one for the first time you should hold it up to your eye within an inch then bring the item your inspecting up to it til focused. I was holding both pieces a foot or so away and found it made a huge difference. Just wish I could use it more often ;)

That's cool! I ordered one for the wife's Android phone, but it didn't work so very well. Sent it back. Guess I need to look into this - see if it works for Android phones. Thanks Turbo!! :hello:

As for the scales, I got 4 to cover any possible needs. From smallest to largest:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B016RB87TG/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GS8LWIW/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004W7IOV4/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0032TNPOE/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

So far, I have used the 2nd scale the most BY FAR!! The first is so sensitive that you have to use the provided cover, as just your normal, calm breath will throw the unit off. The 3rd scale is good to 55 lbs., and nice! 4th scale is a digital bathroom scale. This was actually the most difficult one to choose, as it was hard to find one that people were really pleased with. Well, as far as digital bathroom scales goes, this is it! So now we're good anywhere from 1/100 gram on up to 300 lbs.

Did you hear about the guy that got killed by his wife? Seems he got up early one morning and went fishing before his wife got up. While he was out he realized it was his 50th wedding anniversary. He rushed home only to find his wife fuming on the front porch. She said by tomorrow morning I want something that goes from 0 to 300 in less than 5 seconds in the driveway tomorrow. She went in and slammed the door. The next morning she woke up and went outside. In the driveway was a beautifully wrapped box which really puzzled her. She went and opened it up, only to discover a bathroom scale.
