I have been posting and learning on T-net for a decade now but never needed to learn about beach hunting. I live about 25 miles from the Pacific but it is just too far to drive unless my MD club has a hunt there. I would only work the dry sand with my XLT and bigfoot.

But, about six months ago my wife and I retired on the same day and a month later bought a piece of property in Northern CA that is three miles from the ocean. Our house is being built right now and we should be moving in a few months.

Also, I bought a whites PI Pro detector and intend on using it a lot in the water. My club West Coast Prospectors only has a couple of water hunters and they always come to the meetings with something nice to show.

So I may be lurking a lot here picking up some good tips.

Dan, if I remember right you said it was way up north so you also need a really thick wet suit or a dry suit, Good luck!
