Their site says the parking lot is open till 1:00 AM. So , I think I'll give it a shot. Just need to grab some batteries for my head lamp. Wish me luck !

I've been to worse beaches at night. The Clearwater police were often riding the beach checking up people. Much appreciated. Caution is still advised.

Every time I have been out in the past week, including today, I've seen someone that has gotten hit by a stingray. Scrub the bottom in front of you with your coil.

During the daytime the stingrays seem more prevalent in the less busy north beach area.

I always do. But , I won't be in the water at night , just pounding sand. I usually spend the whole day in the water , so thought this might give me a chance to hit the sand where everyone is normally lounging.

I got there around 5:00 PM. After 3 hours of finding nothing but quarters and a pair of cheap sunglasses that had to be at least a foot and a half deep , I decided to head to the house. Guess I wasn't really felling the late night thing. Maybe another time. Oh , and $3.00 an hour for parking is crazy !

Shouldn't need much artificial lighting. The place is pretty well lit up.

Just as a reminder.

If you step on a stingray, get hot water in a bucket. As hot as you can stand it. Immerse your foot in the hot water and within a minute the searing pain will subside.

You may still need medical attention for the barb, but the very hot water neutralizes the venom.

I've been there and done that. It works.
