I thought I've seen it all, but today's finds really surprised me. In addition to the usual clad, sunglasses and fishing weights, it was gadget day. In addition to a Senator rod and reel...with barnacles, I found a cell phone and pager in about 3 ft of water. The cell phone suffered a direct hit from my massive Stealth 920iX water scoop, exhibiting a broken and broken-off screen; but interestingly, the phone fell apart in my scoop. It was apparent that the phone was not waterproof and had been in the water for some time. When my wife returned from shopping, I held the pieces outstretched in my hand and asked "wasn't my phone waterproof?" 'What did you do now?" She replied, before realizing I got her, once again. Life is a birch with a metal detectorist.
