Yes, I bought two cz's several years ago in hope of having the time to do them. I did break one down to look and it is possible. Unfortunately I focused only on the Excalibur and sold both of the Cz20's. I do have a video on how to break down the CZ if your interested.

I know how to break one down. I have never been able to get one to work again though. What is your secret?

I would love to see the video also.

CZ21 panel is different then the CZ20. The CZ21 can't be opened without replacing the entire front panel (my understanding from Fisher) because I *think* it's glued rather than using a gasket.

Not 100% positive but that's what I was told.

I doubt it. I am sure it has a gasket and the 4 screws are in the battery compartment. I don't think First Texas wants you trying it.

It does but what I was told is that once the seal is broken on the face plate, it can't be repaired without replacing the faceplate. When my friend sent his in for repair the charges included a new face plate (which is what lead to the question). I'd like to know if this is true or not. Surely someone has taken one apart here?

I'm not sure what Fisher told you, but it may have been that what they meant to convey was that they won't repair a CZ20. If one is sent in, it will me returned as a CZ-21 which mainly means it gets a CZ-21 front plate.

He sent in a CZ21. I found this image which proves otherwise though:
