I would prefer the 5x8" Coil just for the maneuverability under water. Best of luck!

Unless I already know what I'm getting into I pack them all.

I agree, you'd hate to get out there with the 5x8 only and have signals few and far between with no option to spread out a bit. If it's really trashy and you have your largest coil could be an early day as well.

Good luck!

Thank you guys. It was lightening today so might be tomorrow not sure. Rain has been running havoc on us down here. I'm gonna them all no matter what but the storm is better because of size, but then the "drag" through the water is going to be realistically a pain. The 5"x8" I think for my liking is going to be to small to make me believe I'm maximizing my time and effort. I'm thinking the stock coil might be my best bet. But as with anything I'll play it buy ear. All my equipment never leaves my truck. Thanks again guys.

Very good chance I'd say in Louisiana. The very lake I'm talking about I researched where they used to bring Oxen and liquor across the lake from New Orleans. I found out where they used to drop off everything and I metal detected a sidewalk strip on that street ( the only sidewalk strip) and I found a 1829 Spanish Mexican 8 Reales.
