Oh drat! ... it was a surprise to me to see the contrast of the TSA et all at one against the other. I'm thinking there might be some locale variation in the policy implementation?

It doesn't say you can't, just that it will have to be inspected out of baggage. I know, they are a sometimes a puzzle to put back in. I'd rather be tucking my detector back into a bag then tucking my junk back into my shorts after a strip search.
