My buddy dug this the other night when we were working the dry sand... I was like NOOOO!!!! WTF?!!! NICE WORK!!! Nice and heavy.

Then on the drive home I googled it and discovered it was only a $22 ring. Not marked. Gold plated brass.

He seems to get a LOT of fakes. I was really hoping it was real for him.

Can we ban fake jewelry now?

Sure looks like the real deal, What year is it? One thing I've found he needs to dig the ones that have some troll hair on them.
From last year, a first for me. Dug few with tape, but never yarn.

It had no markings on the inside. Was yours marked? I told him to have to checked anyway just in case it's not marked.

I could see where one would think it was real at almost 20 grams then the color. Sure looks good.
