Friday, August 31, we headed west along highway 41, stopping at the smallest Post Office in the U.S. :D

Started detectin sands/surf just north and south of Naples Pier. I received a short sharp signal in dry sand. I took me about 10 minutes to find the critter but it was a post ear ring, a tiny burger compared to a coin. :o I thought it's mate might be there also and was receiving the same short sharp signal so I spent another 15 minutes lookin for it and bingo, found it. :D I plan have the stone tested for authenticity. ;)

Found some other coins & trash. The sunset was worth the drive. 8)

Oh, by the way, don't ever let your meter expire for one minute! Ours expired and I swear within 5 minutes of expiration, a nice "ticket" was under the wiper. :(

Naples is a nice area. Know of some beaches where, if you leave your detector like that - even for a quick picture - someone will run by and snatch it.

They do have a lovely pier there.

Nice finds and congrats on sticking with the hunt to find both earings. I have a place in Naples near Marco Island. Nice area and the pier is a great place to hunt. Were you in the dry or wet sand?

Hey Roy,

I was in dry sand, pretty close to where the wet stuff starts. ;)

I'm anxious to get the rocks looked at. There is a stamp on the underneath side of each mount, it's not a 14K or 18K, etc, but a stamp. ;)

Hey karib,

I had the rocks checked today and they turned out not to be diamonds. >:(

Each stone measured 3 carats. :o

Even some of the fake ones can be better then costume glass. Did they say what they were? They look nice in the picture.

Nope, but that's a good point. I will have them rechecked and keep ya posted. ;)
