Damn where is that superlike button? Reason I like to IS because of the kids and no crowds. And all that other stuff in the OP.

You also have to be careful at night for "land sharks". Had a friend mugged at night at Daytona Beach, he ended up in hospital, a couple other TNet members were mugged at night in South Florida while hunting at night. I have my CCP and I always carry at night.

I love hunting in the dark in the water with a mask and snorkel. I have a very bright underwater 180 degree video light that lights up the entire area. I've been startled by manatee and seen a few sharks but for me it's just an awesome way to detect. I feel safer in the water than on land. Been doing it for years.

Absolutely the best time to hunt saltwater. No crowds and as said before, night sky is a humbling experience. I also like night time kayak fishing for the same reasons.

Night detecting in lakes can be fun as well. Especially when one needs to overcome several fears like getting caught lol.

Some of the more crowded beaches in Delaware are lit up at night by the lights from the boardwalks, so that's fairly safe. I don't see me getting in the water much past the knees at night. Almost drowned once going for a moonlight swim as a teenager (back in the pre-"Jaws" days) and getting into a rip current. One of those experiences is quite enough!

The one advantage to hunting beaches in the evening as opposed to morning is...
You have more chance of finding something that was dropped that day.

I don't go in the water. So day or night, it doesn't matter so much to me. Crowds? I ain't scared no crowd...
