Heading on a cruise to the Caribbean next month, looking for any tips on packing gear?
Also curious about getting on the ship without getting any gear confiscated by ship security ? I assume detectors are fairly common, but not sure about taking military trench shovels, spades, sifters, or anything that someone in security would be concerned about as a potential weapon
Any feedback would be appreciated

Traveled on 2 fun & successful MD trips, 1 to the Treasure Coast in Florida after the Hurricane in the fall of 2019 and 1 to Paradise Island in the Bahamas this year.
Flew on Frontier (which requires lithium batteries in checked luggage) and American Airlines. I packed my Equinox in the old 1960's Samsonite hard case luggage and had 0 problems flying with my detector. My wife was very glad I brought the MD along! 20191103_140348.jpg 20191105_121904.jpg 20191105_163006.jpg 20191106_093955.jpg 20200129_125236 mosaic.jpg 20200129_162450.jpg 20200130_144255.jpg 20200130_144326.jpg

I can't remember exactly which cruise line it was, either Disney or Holland America that specifically prohibited metal detectors. I think it was Disney. At least for now the point is moot!
