I would seriously appreciate some input and ideas for a week trip to one location.
My wife prefers a beach location which is just fine by me and my MD.

Thats a hard question. Be sure to compile a list of md friendly places though lol

Not really a metal detecting vacation but I went on a business trip to Japan a couple of years ago and it blew my mind. So cool to see a different culture and so many people and almost no litter anywhere I traveled. I had never been out of the country before though... I think Switzerland (Zurich) would be high on my list as well. I have been watching Bald and Bankrupt on Youtube and he makes awesome videos but I would probably be a hard pass on India and Russia.

I would go to the UK or a place with some real history that allows detecting.

Here in the united states its hard to get things older than the 150 years old...Europe goes back 1000's of years!

I think I would like to return to northern Europe, England, Scotland, Ireland. Lands of my ancestors. Then Russia, the country that MY country hates so much. I think they are probably OK people, too.

Iceland. So many hot springs. So little time to soak. Good fishing and the best lamb I have ever had.

Great pic & Thanks for all the great ideas. Due to our schedules the trip will likely be in the fall or winter months here, which would make it spring or summer in the southern hemisphere. I like the idea of Australia or a South Pacific island but I am not having much luck talking my wife into a long flight and I can understand her point of a long 15+ hour flight to detract from an otherwise great vacation. I have also heard good things about the Maldives as well as Turks & Caicos, I may have negotiate a max flight time with my wife and work from there. It's a big trip and I appreciate all your positive input.

If you plan to vacation at a salt water beach, think about using some of that $25K and get a better detector for that venue.
