Does Fisher still make the CZ3D? I thought it was discontinued.

When you say BEST for 2020..... im not sure i agree with a PI being a machine of choice in ALL conditions. Also ... you never mentioned the new TDI or the MDT. Both very good machines.

I agree. I would rather use a TDI Beachhunter over the Garrett SeaHunter. Also, if we're putting detectors that aren't waterproof on the list, I would rather use an Etrac, Explorer, or even a Sovereign over the Fisher CZ3D when it comes to salt water and wanting discrimination.

Pretty large price difference between a TDI and a Sea Hunter ($450). That was one of my reasons. I tried to include the entry level machine, on up. I REALLY dislike Whites machines, and that is part of it as well. :occasion14:

Some of us here really do like the Excals :)

Does Kellyco still make the mods on them? I put mine on a straight shaft and had Kellyco do the pin point mods 4 (?) years ago..... My brain has mud in it now.....

I wasn’t reading it that way.... price to me is immaterial when you say best. The machines maybe better than their price tag.... but if some one is looking for the best beach machine price doesn’t out weigh performance..... which is what I’m looking for.

you know that Keith at ML repair does those PPers Deepseaker
