I run the equinox 600 and I was running beach 2. I was getting a bunch of weird signals and tones where the waves crash in. The VDI numbers were 1 15 8 9 16 17 18 19 28 29 30 31. What could be causing something like this?
If you hunting in the water you must be run dropped sensivity

Next question is ...are you using beach 1 or 2? In the surf id recommend beach 2...... also in the oatmeal you can get a response from a high concentration of black sand which moves and expands as the water moves INTO the sand. Hold up your coil the next time to see if its EMI. Most of the time thou if the coil is covered you shouldnt be getting a lot of EMI..... but you will get minerals and on rises very very tiny concentrations of aluminum/black sand.

If you are in the wash, you are probably going to be getting false signals. Your detector is trying to run stable and adjust for that salinity, but in the wash its constantly changing and changing rapidly as the waves wash over the coil. Lower your sens a little bit. If you have black sand in your beach, make sure you have ground balanced to it (out of the water)
