I’ve been using these Mares for years and they’ve served me well. I have two pair which I rotate after each time out. When I get home, I soak them in water and white vinegar and dry them on a shoe dryer. Doing so makes them fresh and ready to go next time up.

I use a Mares dive shoe too, but, a slightly different model. I've been using this pair for about 3 years now, so, I can't read the label anymore to give you a model number. Otherwise, they're still in good shape.

do a google search for dive boots - get a 5mm or 7mm - with a good sole
I used a bunch of different brands - i hunt colder waters so mine are 7mm
make sure you get high tops - low ones you will get rocks - sand and coral depending where you hunt

Take a look at the SoftScience Terrafin wading boots, pricey, great sole for digging, comfortable -- I like them better than neoprene.

I just wore through the bottoms of my surf booties after ten years. I think they were Quicksilver brand or O'niell. In the ocean I don't wear shoes but at night that means lots of spines and crab bites. I've never been debilitated but a few times I bet there were some sharks following the blood trail lol. Kicking those surf scoops is like a foot cheese grater. They'll toughen up after a bit. Forget anything but surf boots foe the beach.

Don't forget to get the booty socks too. They make putting them on and taking them off a whole lot easier!

How much arch support is in these booties? I'm doing fresh water beaches and creeks and could use something a little firmer on the bottom.

Once discovering certain styles of surf booties, dive booties were immediately a thing of the past. Nearly eliminate sand n rocks inside them and are swimmable. Limited in choices for me, cuz of size 14's, but the O'niell Superfreak 2mm split toes are amazing, got 3 pairs I rotate using. Previously used the taller ones too, with two velcro straps, worked well, but I like the low profile ones for not looking so odd now. Had tried some hyperflex ones that were size 13's, they actually kept every speck of sand out, but bothered my toes after a few hours cuz of being too small. Then found the ones available in 14's, so switched.

The Mares have a hard soled bottom and are quite comfortable to walk in. You can ride a bike while wearing These boots. For me the arch support seemed good.

been thinking about the Mares 6.5 trilastic-https://www.amazon.com/Mares-6-5mm-Trilastic-Dive-Boot/dp/B00NFZXZ68 also someone suggested XS scuba 8mm boots-https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BHPVINA/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3U23N5O4P9AZ&psc=1. They look tough and arch seems good too. anyone use either of these? Well i went with the XS scuba thugs will give a review with pic's when i get them.
