I was in Costa Rica two weeks ago and was on some black Volcanic sand beaches with my XP DEUS, I was unable to use it on these beaches as the machine was just crazy erratic, white sand beaches were fine and working some local soccer fields it worked fine. Anyone with experience tell me a machine that can be used on these types of beaches? Is a Pulse Induction machine the only way to hunt these ?
Thanks for the help in advance,
Richard

I feel your black sand pain - tried to detect Cape Disappointment in WA state which has so much black sand is disrupts compasses. No joy.

From what I researched, a PI is your best bet.
