Hey Casper, I typically hunt the Delaware beaches just during summer, but I live in NJ and Iโ€™m going crazy not being able to hunt the land here because of all the snow.
Do you think itโ€™s worth driving 90 minutes to one of the NJ beaches tomorrow to hunt around the afternoon low tide? I realize tomorrow is 2/13 and almost two weeks after the storms you weโ€™re talking about, but would there still be targets pushed in/uncovered from the storms?
Iโ€™m just not that familiar with beach hunting.

Can you find a surfing cam of the beach or close to the beach you are interested in? HH

Great idea! Thanks for the suggestion.
I just checked one out for a beach that was recommended to me; sadly there's even snow on the beach (but I guess that shows the high-tide line pretty well).
What should I be looking for on the beach? Cuts? Anything else?

Edit: I'll be taking my hip waders so I intend to get into the water, at least up to hip height.

We have had some big cuts in the Rockaways, on Long Beach, and at Jones on Long Island, but not much has been found by the locals this time. :skullflag:

over the yrs after storms they find huge old silver coins - not sure if they are spanish or dutch
if they are finding big silver then expect they are getiing old gold too

Thanks Casper. Sorry about your cast. When does it come off?
I'm going to give low tide a shot today; I'll let you all know what I find (if anything). I have my expectations set low. Frankly I just want to hear the machine beep again - it's been too long.

Everything is sanded on Long Island. Noreaster after noreaster have done nothing but pile up more and more sand. Thought the winter storms were supposed to remove sand. :icon_scratch: Yeah right!

On the other hand, if you're hunting for can slaw, you'll do just fine. lol
