3rd cobb in 2 days...4 reale !!

just trying to save what I can from this spot....watched them haul off treasure filled sand all day....finally got one toward the end of the day right on the edge of US1 !!
So should I clean it up for jewelry piece or leave it be ?? Its right where it should be for a 4 reale...13.7 grams !!
I will keep it up as long as I can....there can't be but 2 more days of hunting before everything is sealed up until the next cat 4-5 hurricane

That sand berm in the middle is good treasure bearing material.....it will be sealed off from detecting until mother nature says different !! Locked under a carpet of brick. Workers have been great to us....giving us every chance possible to get some spanish treasure !! Today when I got to work everyone looked at me and said what are you doing here....you should be treasure hunting while you can....so I left work at noon and was at the spot hunting all afternoon !! So glad to have the support from my boss....hurry up and get down there and get some treasure is all he said !! Happy hunting folks !!


No marks...silver ring....2 feet from cobb....simple design. This all leads me to believe its treasure wreck related. I could be wrong but I've never seen an un marked silver ring in today's day and age....if it ain't marked 925...its usally not silver.

Wow....its cleaning up great !!
Full lions and partial castles on this dated 1733 omf mint marked 4 reale cobb....definatly got a nice clean chunky dated 4 reale...dang she's a beauty.

All I can say is wow !! What a great treasure coin !! Took less than 20 minutes to clean up !!

Wow !!.....im almost certain that after looking through my other finds, that I also found a small silver treasure ring....its broken and bent and unmarked....its definitely silver and it was only a foot or 2 from the cobb !! I'll take a pic....it might be pretty special !!

Nice....seen stuff many moons ago from bayside,many said it was from personal baggage that floated off when the EL Lerri keeled out.most was unlisted due to tax they had to pay upon safe arrival to home port....the highway was not there then....

Thats exactly it keyshunter....the description in the archives is that the entire beach was covered in personal luggage and gifts !! This little ring is similar to one I saw recovered from here before. Everyone and there mother got coins off this beach....not much will make it past this project !! I've also read the top deck sheared away and came scudding on in to this beach at some point !!

Noah this beach is in a spot called galleon ally....multiple galleons in the area !!

Once that cap goes on it won't be to productive for many moons.....it will become a strictly shallow water spot !!

Follow one of the trucks out and see where they are taking the sand. Or ask one of the drivers.

FYI the ship had registered 34,000 silverpesos on board,1-1/2 reales but they only recovered 22,292 pesos so says the archives...no registered gold on board,,,that leaves 11,708 coins ?? they say no lives were lost during thier ordeal....the highway and railroad was built from muck that they dug up..people say under the road is a boat lode of treasure?

Hell ya pepper....I just sit in the truck with the door open and my feet propped up and watch em dig and haul off the treasure sand. When there's a chance or a break im in there....get in there and get something quick. Then back to the truck or up the beach, and watch for the glint of gold in each scoop. All the crew are looking now.
